Shopping For Classic Shoes

There is an old saying that goes “The clothes make the man” and it true.  You can wear pants or shorts, you can wear a shirt or a sweater but if the shoes are right you are not going to look good or feel right.  That is what sets them apart from any other garment, it has to be the right one.  There is no such thing as close when it comes to shoes and over the years many have become classics that have been made for decades.  To find them, you can go from store to store trying to find them or just go on-line to Infinity Shoes.  Whether you are looking for Miz Mooz or Clarks, you will find all the classics there.

Back in the late 1970's an early 1980's was the era of Punk.  If you truly wanted to fit in at a show there was an industrial boot that you had to have.  You could not go see The Clash without wearing your Dr Martens.  The style was the Dr Marten Unisex 1940.  You knew they were real from the translucent sole, light stitching to the boot, and the fact they were so tall on the calf.  If you didn't want it that tall on the calf you could skate by with the 1919's.  They had the same steel toed toughness but were a little shorter.  The best thing about them is that the lasted seemingly forever.  You don't see worn out Dr Martens.

If you weren't going to a punk show but someplace a little nicer you want a different shoe.  There is noway you want to go on a boat without wearing you Sebago Schooners.  Those shoes just were the shoe for the docks in the Easthampton's or anywhere else the rich liked to play.  But it was on the Northeast coast that Sebago had the shoe for the causal life at the club later.  That was the Sebago  Docksides.  While Sebago makes a broad range of quality shoes they made their name as being the shoes of the docks and the lifestyle it embodies.

The list of classic shoes and their makers could fill volumes of books so these are only two.  For the other ones you remember and want the is a place on-line for your one-stop shopping and that is Infinity Shoes.  No mater which high end classic you remember it is there.
